Ladies Football Update 16/04/2012

This week saw the senior ladies play their final game in the West Cork League, taking on Rosscarbery on Friday night last.  Clon played some very good football and emerged as easy winners on a scoreline of 6-11 to 1-6.  This completes their West Cork League campaign for the moment, having played 4 games with a bye in one round.  They won 3 games, beating Beara, Bride Rovers and Rosscarbery and lost to Gabriel Rangers whom they played with a very under strength team on the night.  They now await draws from the County Board. The junior ladies have one more game to play, Munitir Bhaire, which they hope to play this weekend. They have also had a good league campaign this year, beating Caheragh & Courcey Rovers and loosing to Bantry. Our U16's travelled to Bantry on Saturday last but were beaten on the day.  Gaelic for Mums returned to training on Friday night last and new members are more than welcome, training takes place on Friday from 7.00pm to 8.00pm and fun is the emphasis here.  The Munster 7's will take place in Ahamilla again this year and to that end we are so grateful to Eugene & Catriona Scally for their continued sponsorship of this event.  Planning and preparations are only at commencement stage but it is hoped to hold the event the last weekend of June, further details will be available shortly
