Ladies Football Update 30/04/2012

Quiet week on the playing front, with only 1 game taking place, the U14 girls played Valley Rovers on Friday night last in Brinny. Despite being up at half time, they lost control of the game in the second half and were defeated. Some of the girls on the team were part of the Sacred Heart Secondary School 1st year team who has spent the day taking part in a Munster Ladies Gaelic Football 1st year blitz in Donoughmore, some of them playing 4 games already that day so legs and bodies were inevitably tired. It was a great day for them as they were crowned county champions on the day, having won all their games which was a great achievement given that there were over 20 teams taking part. Congratulations to all involved and especially to our own Clare O'Leary who is one of the coaches of this team.

The junior game against Muintir Bhaire which was due to be played on Sunday morning was called off due to the unavailability of players. The Club would also like to wish Jenny Quinn, Denny Enright and all other players & mentors with the Cork Minor team the very best of luck as they go in search of another Munster Title on Sunday next when they take on old rivals, Kerry. An Under Age disco will take place on Friday 4th May in the Imperial Hotel, €5.00 entry fee, age limit 8-14 years and will be fully supervised.
