The U21 A team took on Dohenys in Enniskeane on Saturday last. A tough task was expected as Dohenys had defeated the reigning champions Ilen Rovers in the previous round. The opening quarter was very even with both attacking sides looking very threatening with the ball and scoring at will and the scores were tied at 4 points each after 15mins. Dohenys dominated from there until half time with the lively forward line causing all sorts of trouble and they deservedly lead 1-08 to 0-04 at half time. Clon started the second half with a bit more life but found scores hard to come by and were unable to make any significant inroads into the large Dohenys lead. Clon were unlucky with a goal attempt from Paul O'Regan that was somehow kept out. However Dohenys ended up comfortable and deserving winners 2-11 to 0-10. Clon still progress to the County section under the new format but improvement is required to make a significant impact.

They lead after an impressive first 30 mins 2-05 to 0-06 at half time. In the second period O'Donoban Rossa started strongly and narrowed the margin down to a couple of points. Clon rallied in the closing 10 minutes despite the majority of the team being in U21 action less than 24 hours earlier. Clon kicked three successive scores to edge out to a comfortable lead entering the final few minutes to record a deserved victory. With less than 4 weeks to go before the championship game against Carbery Rangers further league games are scheduled to take place before then.
The U21 A team took on Ahan Geals in Dunmanway on April 1st. The game was played in good dry conditions with Clon playing against a stiff breeze in the opening half. This did not stop them dominating proceedings as they built up a 0-06 to 0-01 approaching half time. With the last play they were gifted a fortuitous goal due to a goalkeeping error to lead at half time 1-06 to 0-01. The second half continued in the same fashion as the opening half with Clon scoring at will against an outclassed opposition. Final score 4-13 to 0-02. Clon kicked a number of fine points in the closing stage with the only negative to emerge being an injury suffered to Olan O'Donovan following a heavy challenge.
